Format and procedure

The Salon der Wissenschaft is an event format that gives people in our city the opportunity to talk to researchers from the Braunschweig region. No lectures are held here; the focus is on interpersonal dialog.

On Wednesday, June 18th 2025, around 30 scientists from Braunschweig’s research institutions will explain their research and dreams in four 15-minute rounds.

Ask your questions and discuss exciting and future-oriented research topics.

4 time slots, 20 tables, 15 minutes

Who talks to whom will be decided on the spot after a short explanation. Those who do not get a ticket for a one-on-one conversation in a time slot or simply prefer to listen can listen to selected table conversations via headphones. The headphones will be provided free of charge on site.

During the breaks and after the last round of talks, conversations can be continued continue over food and drinks.

The Salon der Wissenschaft is jointly organised by ForschungRegion Braunschweig e.V., which brings together the research institutions in our region, and the City of Braunschweig. The format has been taking place annually since 2022.

Tickets for the slots can be booked after the welcome round as follows:

18:50 – 19:15 – Break & ticket booking for slots 1 and 2

19:15 – 19:30 – 1st slot

19:30 – 19:45 – Break & ticket booking for slots 2 and 3

19:45 – 20:00 – 2nd slot

20:00 – 20:15 – Break & ticket booking for slots 3 and 4

20:15 – 20:30 – 3rd slot

20:30 – 20:45 – Break & ticket booking for slot 4

20:45 – 21:00 – 4th slot

Due to the high demand, only one ticket per person will be issued per break.
